#ItsElementary in Action
aChild's mandate is to raise funds to accelerate psychoeducational assessments for at-risk youth in their early, formative school years.
The up to $2,500 assessment is a crucial step in securing an Individualized Education Plan ('IEP') that identifies modifications and accommodations to mainstream course curriculums, which increases their scholastic success. With current government waiting lists in Ontario ranging form two to four years or more, children with atypical learning styles fall years behind their peers.
How the Funds Will Be Disbursed
aChild is not qualified to assess those most in need of assessments. After a review of the variety of front line experts that are in the know, we have partnered with the Children's Aid Foundation - well recognized organization most definitely appreciating the need for improving the chances for at risk youth in Ontario.
Accountability to Our Donors
To balance privacy matters yet still provide accountability to you, our donors, our partner charity has established a specific fund for psychoeducational assessments in disbursing payment for services rendered.
